Edirol R-09HR Digital Recorder

Print This Article The Edirol R-09HR is the latest digital sound recorder from Roland. The R-09HR is the replacement version of Edirol’s popular R-09, which now supports higher quality audio rate of 24-bit/96KHz linear PCM stereo recording. Anyone looking for a digital recorder capable of recording high level audio suitable for meetings, in the field recording, or even podcasting, the Edirol is a prime choice. The built in flash memory is small with 512 MB; however, does record to SD or SDHC memory card up to 8 GB. The Edirol R-09R transfers files through USB and comes with a wireless remote controller. At the Waves of Tech we use this device to record our podcast directly from the mixer. The only negative we have found is the location of the power on/off button. It is located next to the power input receptacle which makes it difficult to get your finger on the button. The Edirol is a great portable or stationary recording device. The unit is a bit on the pricey side, approximately $400.00, but worth every penny.
